trip introduction
River Seti can be reached from Damouli roughly 160 kilometers west of Kathmandu. Rafters encounter several rapids before reaching Trishuli River. Hindu religious site Devghat marks the confluence of Kali Gandaki and Trishuli and becomes River Narayani. Rafters have a choice of either coming back to Kathmandu or continuing the journey to visit the Chitwan National Park. In this river trip, maximum beginner and family group can be enjoyed.
Itinerary
In the very early hour of morning around 6 am we will take our drive towards the rafting starting point Damauli to start the exciting Seti river rafting. It will take about 2hrs drive from Pokhara and 5hrs from Kathmandu. Our guide will provide short lessons on the use of paddles, safety measures, and emergency rescue tips. We start on the Madhi Khola, which after a few minutes, joins into the Seti. Rafting in Seti River is full of scenic views with undisturbed wildlife and bird watching. Seti is a 2-3 grade white river, and it offers some of the very terrifying and challenging turns during the raft. But believe it’s all that you are going to enjoy the most.
We will be in the water, enjoying and playing for about 4-5 hrs and set our day camp on the beach at Saranghat. Saranghat is a colorful middle hills village.
You can enjoy your rest of the time swimming, taking photos, or exploring the area around.
We will finish our breakfast early and set for the full day rafting adventure. We will be fully prepared today as we will be going to have some grand thrilling rapids. Cross 2-3 rapids and join to the Trisuli River. The twisted severe rock formations give away to sandstone and gavel deposited by antecedent rivers. We will pass the very religious place, Gaighat, watching the pilgrims praying in water, or paying homage. We will have our lunch here at Gaighat and have some free time to stroll around this sacred place. From here, we can join our trip to Chitwan national park or return towards our destinations.
